Aldersgate UMC Missions
Aldersgate is a loving and caring Church dedicated to growing disciples of Christ. We do outreach in the community with several projects and mission opportunities. Some of these include: Dorothy Day Soup Kitchen, Cub/Boy Scouts, Winthrop University Wesley Foundation, Rolling in Rock Hill, Carolina Cross Connection, Salkahatchie, Prayer Walk, and Rosewood Elementary.
plentiful harvest
Plentiful Harvest Kitchen opened its doors in August 2012 to those in need of a healthy meal. The soup kitchen takes place at Covenant Presbyterian Church in Rock Hill, SC. It is operated by volunteers from area churches and various organizations. Free meals are served every Sunday from 4:00 pm until 6:00 pm.
Aldersgate has a team that volunteers an afternoon of their time approximately every couple of months to feed local men, women and children.
Compass prep homeschool group
Aldersgate hosts Compass Prep. Compass Prep is a non-profit, multifaceted environment where we partner with homeschool parents to give students in grades 9 through 12 a place to grow socially and intellectually. Our structure fosters the growth for academic success but we also offer opportunities to encourage the whole person. Our classes are provided by independent instructors and are at instruction levels needed for college preparation. Social activities for peer-group interactions are planned monthly alongside meaningful, community service projects throughout the year. We believe this well-rounded approach satisfies the homeschooled, high school students’ need for independence and fellowship.
Financial peace university
We serve as a Host Location for Dave Ramsey's "Financial Peace University" which teaches people how to get out of debt and build Wealth.
